Ma la polizia ha affermato che il sospettato è nato in Gran Bretagna e che l'incidente non è trattato come un attacco terroristico.Nel fine settimana sono scoppiate rivolte a Liverpool, Bristol, Tamworth, Middlesbrough e Belfast, nell'Irlanda del Nord, con uomini per lo più giovani che indossavano passamontagna e bandiere britanniche che hanno lanciato pietre e urlato "Stop the Boats", un riferimento ai migranti arrivati sulla costa meridionale negli ultimi anni.
